Things To Do...

Lady Grace Boat Trips – If you like a boat trip then go on ' The Lady Grace' it's a little 20 minute boat trip which takes you round packing shed island, which is where they used to pack the oysters in the 1850's.

Mersea Island Vineyard – Pop here to pick up a bottle of the local beer and wine.

Mersea Island Museum  – To find out about the history of our beautiful Island. 

Mersea Island Water Sports – If you want to learn to wind surf, stand up paddle board or kayak this is the best place to go.

The Little Beach Hut Company –   For if you would like to own your very own beach hut for the day!

Essex Outdoors –  From archery and climbing to power boating and sailing Essex Outdoors host a range of many different activities.

Cudmore Grove County Park  – This is a popular spot for wildlife, bird watching and sea wall walking.

Foot Ferry To Brightlingsea  –  The ferry provides crossing the creek from East Mersea to Brightlingsea

Crown Plaza Golf Course –  (Colchester - 15min Drive) This is our local Golf Course hosting two 18-hole courses.

Round The Island Walk  –  If you have brought your walking shoes then why not try the 13.8 mile walk around the whole of Mersea Island.


Places To Eat...

The Coast Inn – The perfect place for traditional English food, fresh fish off the boat daily, everything completely homemade & locally sourced. It's a typical busy village pub with seating outside for if ever you fancied a drink or just to enjoy the wonderful views! 

The Oyster Bar – Shell fish specialist with fresh local oysters.

Titash – Your typical Indian restaurant located in the high street of west mersea.

The Gilt Rooms – Perfect for breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails.

China Kitchen  – Great for take away oriental cuisine.

Nupur  – Specialising in balti and pizza takeaway.

Island Fish Bar  – Your classic fish and chip shop to take away and enjoy on the beach. 

The Company Shed  – it's pretty famous on the island & you take your own wine & bread etc,  be prepared as it's very 'rustic' but what you see is what you get - fresh fish.

The Art Café  –  Another lovely place for breakfast, coffee and cake!
